ATDD Training

Stop shipping bugs with ATDD

Every release is a nightmare

  • Developers say they're 90% done — they're really 10% done.
  • Manual QA takes forever — and keeps finding more bugs.
  • Endless bug firefighting and rework.
  • One tiny change and everything breaks.
  • Features break in production and customers find the bugs first.

Acceptance Tests

Why is every release filled with endless firefighting?

The root cause: you have no automated way to know if your features actually work. Manual QA can't keep up. Unit tests aren't enough.

You need Acceptance Tests — automated checks that prove your features work before anything reaches production.

What you'll learn

Acceptance test architecture

Learn how to design Acceptance Test Architecture using DSL and Drivers to test business requirements in a maintainable way.

The ATDD cycle, with AI

Write an acceptance test end-to-end. Walk through the full anatomy of an acceptance test.

Apply it with your team

Use the architecture as a template to introduce acceptance testing into your team's real projects.

What we cover

Why Acceptance Tests

  • The problems with E2E tests
  • How acceptance tests overcome the problems of E2E tests

Acceptance Test Architecture

  • Acceptance tests
  • External system contract tests
  • Domain Specific Language (DSL)
  • System drivers & channels
  • External system drivers

Acceptance Test Driven Development (ATDD)

  • Classical ATDD cycle
  • ATDD cycle with AI
  • RED: writing acceptance tests, DSL & drivers with AI
  • GREEN: implementing system code with AI
  • REFACTOR: refactoring with AI

Adopt ATDD with AI in your team

  • Team alignment
  • Pipeline architecture setup
  • Acceptance test architecture setup
  • ATDD for user stories & bugs

How the session runs

Two live 3-hour sessions, hands-on throughout. Each runs in focused ~50-minute blocks with 10-minute breaks — so there's room to actually do the work between checkpoints, not just watch. The full recording is included.

  • The problem, on a real app

We start on a realistic eShop and define one user story with its acceptance criteria — the failure we're going to make impossible to ship.

  • Write the acceptance test

Author the test against the DSL, then build the drivers underneath — the layer that keeps it stable as the app changes.

  • Make it pass, with AI in the loop

Implement in production code, using AI to accelerate each step. We review at checkpoints together.

  • Take it to your team

Walk through the templates and the approach for introducing ATDD into an existing project — plus Q&A.

Who it's for

This training is for Senior Engineers & Tech Leads who are:

  • Tired of firefighting bugs.
  • Tired of "almost done" features breaking in production.
  • Primary language is Java — with reference implementations for Java, .NET, and TypeScript, so you can follow along in your own stack.
